Since we live in Wisconsin, we know that all too soon the temperature will begin to drop signaling that the snow is right around the corner. And even though you may not want to think about that yet (trust us neither do we), now is the time to prepare. We get a lot of requests for winterizing once it’s already cold but if you want to guarantee that your project is completed in time, now is the time to act. Here are a few things you can do now that will make your life simpler when winter does arrive.
Snow Melt
We have solutions to melt the snow from your driveway, sidewalk, patio, or other outdoor space. If you are planning to build or replace any of these, contact us to discuss options. This is great for both residential and commercial applications if you don’t want to shovel or worry about ice build-up. We also have in-floor heating options available for inside your home. If you are replacing any interior flooring, that would be another great heating option.
Heat Tape
If ice dams form on your roof or gutters, installing heat tape is a popular solution. Once those ice dams form it is difficult to install the heat tape (and oftentimes unsafe to do so), so this is definitely something you want installed ahead of time.
EverLights
How does never installing Christmas lights again sound? EverLights are permanent Christmas lights (or any holiday) that can be controlled via an app on your smart device. There are colors for any holiday, sports team, or stick with white for a year-round clean look. Not only will you not have to hang lights each year but you can also change colors all year round!
Home Automation
With winter also comes shorter daylight hours. A smart lighting system allows you to control your lights whether you are home or not. This means you can turn your lights on before you arrive home, so you are never coming home to a dark house. You can also set your lights on a schedule that will automatically account for daylight savings and the daily changes in sunset/sunrise. A smart doorbell with package detection can also keep an eye on your holiday packages or upgrade to a security system so your home is always protected, even when it’s dark more often.
As always, we hope we’ve made your day brighter! If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please visit www.inthelitellc.com.
