The holiday season is a magical time. And one of the most beloved family traditions is decorating the house and tree with lots of lights and holiday-themed trimmings. But sometimes the magic wanes when stress kicks in and we have more to do than we have time to do it. Here are 4 things you can do to remove some items from your Christmas to-do list and get back to making memories with your loved ones.
Permanent Holiday Lighting
EverLights is so much more than Christmas lighting. It is permanent lighting for any holiday or event. However, this has an extra bonus during the holiday season in that you never have to hang Christmas lights again! And another plus is that you can change the pattern, colors, and effect to anything you want. Classic red and green one night and candy cane the next. Change it up with a winter wonderland pattern or a solid color. Change them often and be the most festive house in the neighborhood.
Smart Plugs
From the Christmas tree, to garland, to the decorations way up on high shelves or niches, you usually have a lot of lighted items that need to be plugged in. And no one wants to run around turning every individual decoration on and off, especially if they are up high. Instead use smart plugs for all your holiday décor. Then you can control all your decorations with one on or off. How cozy is that?
Lighting Scenes
Are you hosting any holiday parties this year? An automated lighting system enables you to be the perfect host. By setting scenes, you can adjust all lighting in your home with the touch of one button. Dim the lights for movie night, have accent lighting for gift exchanges, and have all the lights on for prep and cooking. Plus, with how early it gets dark outside, schedule your lights to turn on with sunset each night so you never come home to a dark house. And if you are travelling for the holidays, turn on “smart away” and your lights will mimic someone being home during peak hours.
Do you have an Alexa or Google assistant? They can be extremely helpful to keep you organized. Create shopping and grocery lists, start and label timers so you don’t burn your cookies and also control your lights. Just say, “Hey Google, turn on my Christmas lights.”
Even if you don’t have time to implement all of these this year, remember to add these to your list for next year!
As always, we hope we’ve made your day brighter! If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please visit www.inthelitellc.com.
